WELCOME TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!
PTA MEMBERSHIP FOR 2011-2012
Anyone interested in joining the PTA can do so by sending in a $10.00 membership
fee to your school’s office with your name, your phone number, your child’s name
and room number included. The PTA Membership Committee will then forward you a
membership card and PTA calendar. If you wish to volunteer for a specific PTA
event, send a note with your new membership information to your school office
and the event coordinator will contact you with details.
Why Join the PTA?
The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is to benefit
your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more PTA
advantages:
• Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.
• PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers. You can
share ideas, concerns and experiences.
• Enjoy other benefits. Individuals and local units can take advantage of a host
of benefits from PTA memberships including discounts and offers from member
benefits providers and sponsors, magazine subscriptions, leadership training,
e-newsletters, a PTA calendar and much more. Visit Illinois PTA on the web for
details.
• Chicago Ridge PTA is unique because it represents the entire school district,
serving three schools, instead of one. With enrollment close to 1,400 students
it is clear we need adult help to run programs, meetings and events. With a
scaled down budget, and a lack of board members and volunteers, the Chicago
Ridge PTA is struggling to survive. We have been in existence since 1948 proudly
serving this school community. We are hoping for more support from our school
parents so we can continue enriching the school environment for our children.
PTA EXECUTIVE BOARD
The Chicago Ridge PTA is always looking for new board members to help plan and
prepare for the many events the PTA hosts throughout the school year. Board
meetings are held the first Tuesday of almost every month. You can refer to your
PTA calendar for the specific dates. This is a great way to volunteer at your
children’s schools and become an active member of your school’s community. You
can contact Laura Allen 630-640-1821 with any questions and/or attend a meeting
to learn more about the PTA.
