Hello,

I would like to welcome both you and your child to a new school year. My name is Barbara Zieba and I will be your child's EL teacher for the coming year. I have been a part of Ridge Central School since 2008. I hold a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with ESL and Bilingual (Polish) Endorsements from Lewis University.

This school year I will be teaching Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 4th grade EL students either by assisting them in their classrooms, pulling them out in small groups, or working one-on-one. No matter what services my students will receive, I will continue to implement EL teaching strategies so they can become fluent in English in all four domains: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

On a personal note, I live in Palos Hills with my husband and two daughters. Both my husband and I speak Polish at home with our daughters, and I encourage you to speak in your native language with your children. In my free time I love to read, travel, ski, hike and do yoga.
