About Me

I have had the pleasure to teach at Ridge Central and Ridge Lawn schools since 1991, after receiving my Bachelor Degree in Art Education from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana. Since that time I have received two Master Degrees. The first was from National-Louis University in Curriculum and Instruction and the second from American College of Education in Educational Leadership. In April of 2017, I hosted a gallery show at Governor State University, representing my individual style of photography. In May of the same year, I receive the highest degree awarded in Fine Arts, which was a Master of Fine Arts, with my emphasis in Independent Film and Digital Imaging.

I am passionate about art and try to share that experience with my students. My goal as an art teacher is to help my students to strive to be their best and to bring new and fun experiences to them while they are in my classroom.

As the art teacher of the two elementary buildings in the district, I am privileged to be able to work with all of the Kindergarten through 5th grade students in the district for one semester each year. The culmination of art work that the students create throughout the semester is a school wide art show that is held at night at each of the respective schools. The art shows are where each student in that school, is represented by at least one piece of art work, that really showcases their individual talents.

In addition to working for the Chicago Ridge Public Schools, I am also a professor at Moraine Valley Community College, teaching Art History.
