When First Elected/Appointed:  Appointed May 2013 / Elected April 2021

Work/Experience/Background:

I have a very diverse background.  I earned a degree in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and worked in accounting for several years before choosing to be an entrepreneur in order to stay at home and raise my children.  Seasonally, I am an instructor and Tax Professional for H&R Block.  I have since returned to accounting and currently work for the Village of Chicago Ridge in the Payroll/HR/Finance position.

Connection to Chicago Ridge/CRSD 127.5

When I met my husband, he was already a member of the community and I like the ‘vibe’ here.  We decided to grow our family here in Chicago Ridge so my sons and I moved to the Ridge when my older boys were in 6th and 7th grades at Finly Junior High.  Since coming here. All four of our children have graduated from 127.5.  The first three have graduated from H.L. Richards High School and our youngest will graduate in May.

Why did you want to become a CRSD 127.5 Board Member

I was originally appointed to the Board of Education when my youngest was a student at Ridge Central School.  I had NO idea what the School Board did, but knew I wanted to be a part of empowering our schools and educators to have a positive impact on our students and our community.
